About the Artwork:
“Black cats and dark houses are both recurring subject matter for me, and I’ve called them into service again. Another idea I’ve played with from time to time is stars coming down from the sky and floating between the viewer and the rest of the scene. I like to think of stars as light enough to float but solid enough to carry a passenger. The trail of fairy dust lifting Captain Hook’s ship into the air in Disney’s Peter Pan is an image that’s stayed in my head since I was a kid, and I was remembering it again as I drew this.” – Matt Schu
