‘Nosebleed’ by Likrot
Medium: Watercolour and glitter on watercolour paper
Dimensions: 10″ x 8″
Year of Creation: 2022
About the Artwork:
“Spooky season is upon us and I’m in the mood! No nosebleed, no October. I just finished working on a larger painting, and it felt great to create something smaller. Painting smaller paintings feels more comfortable to me, and I love building shadows and adding details using a tiny brush. I also wanted to go for a simplistic design and theme; something that felt familiar to me. I used to get nosebleeds a lot as a child, and I haven’t had one for years so I guess I’ve started giving them to my paintings. I wonder what her story is? She’s giving me slight vampire vibes.” – Likrot
About the Artist:
Likrot is a Norwegian artist, their preferred medium being watercolour. By combining the matteness of watercolour with the sparkle of glitter and shine of metallic, likrot’s paintings achieve another dimension that can only truly be experienced in real life. Always trying to see the beauty in darkness and things often considered ugly, likrot’s work often plays with contrasts, such as between creepy and cute, dark and light.
