About the Artist:
Haily South (1995) (she/her) is a self-taught, community-made Utah artist painting ethereal & bold nymphs in oil. Inspired by the worlds of editorial photography, art nouveau, musical theatre, instagram cottagecore, victorian art, mixed media illustration & life-affirming podcasts, she strives to blend these together in a whimsical way.
“My work is often emotion & beauty driven. I try to follow that spark of wonder, & awe. Leaning into the magic, I create what sets my soul on fire, in hopes of spreading that spark.”
South has been doing art full-time since 2016. Since then she has exhibited all throughout galleries & museums in Utah, as well as in San Francisco, Denver, & New York. In 2019 she was commissioned by Downtown Provo to create The Empress Mural in her iconic style. Haily creates daily out of her home studio in her hometown of Orem, Utah, with her partner/best friend Dallas, & their sweet pup Link.
