Jon MacNair was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in southeast Michigan. He graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2005, where he earned a BFA in Illustration. His commercial work has mainly appeared in editorial publications and been utilized in package design for food, beverage and music industries. Clients include the New York Times, the Seattle Stranger, Quirk Books, Chobani and 21st Amendment Brewery. He began exhibiting his personal work in galleries in 2008 and has participated in shows in the U.S. and abroad. Some of his influences include medieval and renaissance art, surrealism and German expressionism. He loves drawing creatures, monsters and things of a dark nature. Jon currently resides in Pennsylvania where he divides his time between freelance projects and creating personal work for exhibitions.
