About the Artwork:

This piece is part of a series of portraits which contain cloth and drapery. In this body of work, I wanted to explore recurrent images throughout art history to compose an uncanny amalgam of a face. This is also one of several paintings in which moths have crept into the image. – Zach Mendoza
