About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

Ivardi Ahau is an illustrator and muralist born in Mexico City, Mexico. His formal career as an artist began in 2016 with street murals and learning from online painting videos and blogs. His work revolves around a mixture between the symbolism, art and mythology of the ancient cultures of Mexico (such as the Nahua, Wixarica, Mixteca, Zapotec and Olmeca) with their experiences, dreams and fantasies. Since these cultures are in an intimate relationship with nature, it allows him to link animals, plants and stars with the human being to achieve something that could be cataloged with a surrealist discourse. In addition to this, he is especially attracted by the use of plasticity and the play of pictorial materials to generate textures and atmospheres. Since then he has participated in several group exhibitions within Mexico and recently abroad in Brúcelas, Belgium and Portland, USA.
