About the Artwork:

“I am living a new exploratory process in my own work, a kind of metamorphosis that has been taking me towards new instances through traditional painting. This time I was in contact with some of my main references, the sea and its creatures. The mermaids are perhaps a way of representing the mysticism of the depths of the sea and of our own imagination. They have always inspired me and somehow this is a small tribute to their mystery and magic.” – Christian Orrillo
