About the Artwork:

“ACQUIESCENCE explores personal narrative and the human condition through flora and fauna. In an atmospheric scene set in the Olympic Mountains, an owl floats through the valley, melting while simultaneously breathing new life. Reenforcing the lesson that which nature always demands both in a literal sense and in metaphor, death surrounds life surrounds death in a cyclical endless promise. To tend to this flow, the owl is reminded to graciously acquiesce in the face of stagnation so that change or new life may occur and continue on.” – Kimera Wachna

About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

I grew up surrounded by woods and forest creatures in New York. Though I now live in Seattle with my partner and two cats, I take my experiences in those formative years with me as they serve as the biggest inspirations behind my work. I believe that art, like anything you put a great deal of time and heart into, can be a mechanism for connection and manifestation. I often paint things I wish to see in the world in search of solace, hope, and enchantment. My aim is for the viewer to feel a little less alone in the world and to seek beauty especially in the most hard to reach places.
