About the Artwork:

“This piece is part of my ongoing exploration of remote houses, and houses as characters in an image. I’ve been interested in how small details can imply human presence without showing humans directly. And the idea of a remote house on a rock interests me, it being a safe place carved out somewhere that’s otherwise inhospitable.” – Matt Schu
