About the Artwork:

Aletheia: a spirit or goddess of truth, truthfulness, and sincerity. Aletheia can be translated as “unclosedness”, “unconcealedness”, “disclosure” or “truth”. The literal meaning of the word ἀ–λήθεια (i.e. the opposite of lethe) is “the state of not being hidden; the state of being evident.”

(Artist Bio)

Kaysha Siemens was born and raised in Canada, and now makes her home near Asheville, NC, USA. She works mainly in oil and graphite, and her current primary focus is Mnemosyne, an ongoing project inspired by Greek myth. She seeks to talk about the ordinary with the language of story, to arrest with exquisite imagery, and ultimately to leave viewers with a feeling, a lingering sense, that they have had a brush with the sublime.
