About the Artwork:

This has been a tumultuous year so far that I can’t help but reflect upon. In doing so, I have also been looking at Hieronymus Bosch. His work from the mid 15th century are paintings that I can get lost in with so many details and imagery. One particular symbolic item I’ve seen repeatedly through his work is a funnel worn as a hat. The funnel represents false wisdom, I feel like there’s been a lot of that lately. The best way I know how to talk about it is with an adorable walleyed chihuahua wearing a funnel hat. The background also comes from Bosch’s painting ‘Garden of Earthly Delights’. – Cassandra Kim
