About the Artwork:

“This piece is part of a new series in progress titled ‘Secret Gardens’. Two gannets sit on the edge of the world, building their nest under the sun, moon, and stars. They share in a ritual, known only to them, hidden from the rest of the world.” – Dave Todaro

About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

Dave Todaro (b.1978) is a surreal wildlife painter working out of his studio in the heart of the Mile-End district of Montreal. In his paintings, animals act in unexpected ways and draw attention to a scene unfolding in a recognizable, yet secret environment. We are invited to witness intimate moments – moments of tension, serenity and belonging; to experience a surreal glimpse into worlds too hidden and intimate to come across in everyday life.

Dave has been navigating the art world for the past 15 years as a commercial artist, designer, art educator, muralist, and as an art director. All the while, Dave has kept a painting practice, exhibiting in galleries and collaborating with other artists from around the world.
