Tim Furey is an artist living and working in New Jersey, USA. He works primarily in graphite and colored pencil. His work explores an abstract digital realm, while avoiding the use of computer generated imagery. Tim uses drafting grid rulers and various shape templates to achieve crisp lines similar to engineering schematics. The focus of his work is a playful interplay of geometric shapes, pencil rendering, mark making, computer interface icons, and grid patterns. The goal of Tim’s work is to convey a sense that reality is slipping away. Leaving behind artifacts on a shelf or an uncontrolled scientific process going through a contained existential crisis.
