About the Artwork:
“Queen of Everything Under the Moon” pays homage to the quiet strength and beauty found in the various facets of femininity. A play of shades, using an almost black blue and a warm white create a strong contrast that mirrors the subtle complexities of the queenly figure. This palette lends a sense of depth to the painting, inviting viewers to explore the layers that make up the queen’s world.
The artwork invites contemplation on the powerful yet serene influence of femininity. Through the layers of the painting, the viewers may find themselves immersed in a dreamlike atmosphere, where reality and imagination coexist harmoniously under the moon’s watchful gaze. “Queen of Everything Under the Moon” is an invitation to appreciate the strength and grace inherent in the simplicity of being a woman.
The artwork is painted on both sides. The back side has been painted as if it were a playing card. This piece comes with a very easy system to mount it onto the wall.
About the Artist:
(Artist Bio)
Portuguese artist Mário Belém (b. 1977) worked as a digital illustrator and graphic designer for several years, yet the desire to get his hands dirty with paint again and focus on his artwork proved stronger. Today he works with equal skill on both the small-scale pieces he creates in the studio and on the large-scale murals that have earned him a leading role in the burgeoning Portuguese urban art scene. Over the last few years he has been solidifying a distinctively personal language – colourful and playful – where he frequently juxtaposes images and words, composing visual narratives of a magical nature that are rooted in a balance between the familiar and the unusual and that explore various subjects inherent to communication, popular culture and the present human condition. Working mainly the medium of painting on wood in compositions of a sculptural nature, he has been presenting his oeuvre in solo and group exhibitions, besides outdoor spaces, both urban and natural, in countless locations.
