“THE COLLECTOR 1 & 2 are based on places in my hometown. There are corners where objects accumulate as if sucked into a sinkhole or collected by a big mysterious magpie. These hoards take on a magnificent but also oppressive character, as if they are trying to suck you in, or collect you. These paintings are about the imagined creature which lives in these corners.” – Savanna Judd
