About the Artwork:

“This work was born from the idea of weaving the storms that affect us all at some point of life. What to do with that state of dejection and sadness? Sometimes just try to take the threads of that sadness and weave them, order them and give them a place on the world map. This is how this work Knitting the storm was born, as a metaphor for what we can do with pain, since pain is inevitable, it is part of life, but perhaps while we go through it, we can transform it into something new and give it a meaning to us. This work talks about transmuting that pain. I decided to create a background of a warm tone to contrast with the dark clouds, implying that the storms are not permanent and that after those clouds, calm returns. The question is to learn to go through every moment of life knowing that everything passes. There is always light behind the clouds.” – Carolina T. Godina

About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

My name is Carolina. I’m a freelance illustrator from Barcelona. I studied a Philosophy degree in the UB and after that I studied illustration at the EASD Llotja of Barcelona. I like drawing and painting since I was a child and that led me to decide to become a professional of publishing illustration. I am passionate about art, literature and knowledge. When I’m not illustrating or painting, I dedicate myself to writing, reading and getting lost in the woods. My sources of inspiration are nature, animals and life, which never cease to amaze me.
