About the Artwork:

“Deep in the weedy waters spread

The rootlets of the placid bloom:

So sprung my love’s flower, that was bred

In deep, still waters of heart’s-gloom”

The Lily-pond by George Parsons Lathrop

I am creating an oracle deck full of fairies, mermaids, naiads, dryads, and goddesses. I explore their emotional inner words, and seek to tap into the wisdom of Mother Nature through them. This is an illustration for that deck, and the theme of this card is ‘healing’. – Madalyn McLeod

About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

Madalyn McLeod is a fantasy artist living in the mountains around Asheville, NC. She takes inspiration from nature, folklore and fairy tales to create ethereal paintings using watercolor, gouache, colored pencil and ink. Her work is characterized by flowing line art, femininity, and moody atmosphere.

She grew up in North Carolina, and spent a lot of time reading and drawing throughout her childhood. She received a BFA in illustration from East Carolina University in 2013, and since then, she has been working on a body of personal artwork, illustrating for clients, and showing at local galleries. She understands the world is often dark, and wants to bring a little magic into it.
