“This piece came from a sketch I had made for a series of surreal environments that I was commissioned to create. I kept the sketch around for a couple months and it kept staring at me. Funny thing is the concept wasn’t originally an eyeball but just some open water, so when I thought of the eye it made the image that much more interesting.” – Dean Stuart
About the Artist:

Dean Stuart is an illustrator and painter making work for magazines, books, and galleries. He grew up in the misty trees of Oregon where he cultivated his passion for drawing using nothing but hand whittled pencils. In 2007 he pursued his passion for art at California College of the Arts. Since graduating his work has been featured in Hi-Fructose, Spoke Art, Boom! comics, Gallery Nucleus, Sketchpad Gallery, and in 2018 Dean published his first fully illustrated book, ‘Finders Keepers’.
