“When I was younger I used to have these recurring nightmares where I’d go to some public place like a theme park or a funeral home that would be full of identical well-dressed women with large mouths full of sharp teeth. It’s been years since I had one but I still think about them from time to time, and that persistent feeling that no matter where I went these weird dream monster people were waiting for me. That feeling led to this painting.” – Ally Burke

Ally Burke is a self-taught artist from Southwest Virginia working primarily with acrylics and inks. She started painting as a means of exploring her own fears, and is forever inspired by body horror, the occult, Halloween, and science fiction.
