About the Artwork:

“Lately, I have been thinking a lot about fragility. I came across an interesting thought: If something fragile exists, then uncertainty, risk, chaos, and disorder exist around it at the same time, like a permanent invisible threat. I love how Nepenthes or pitcher plants are fine, filigree objects themselves while they are a nearly invisible threat for their prey.” – Kristin Siegel-Leicht

About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

Kristin Siegel-Leicht is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer from Germany. She lives in a small town in the county of Vogtland. Her work is mainly affected by her preference for all kinds of strangenesses and curiosities. She loves to be subtle or hiding something in her work that reveals itself at the second sight. She works with mixed media, especially gouache and pencil often combined with digital coloration. Besides painting, Kristin likes to take walks in nature, listen to true crime podcasts and create sweet GIF animations.
