I’ve been spending time at a small lake in rural Wisconsin and have been fascinated by the seasonal changes of the water and surrounding shores. From plants and flowers springing up with the arrival of warmer weather to the return of insects and frogs, this piece is a reflection on the surprising feeling of reconnecting with old friends. – Brian Britigan

Brian Britigan is a Minneapolis-based artist and illustrator. Born and raised in Iowa City, IA, he studied art and animation at the University of Washington in Seattle before earning his MFA in illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. His work has received recognition from American Illustration, Communication Arts, 3×3, Spectrum, a News & Documentary Emmy nomination, and a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators.
