About the Artwork:

“This piece was commissioned for the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. There theme for this year’s convention is, “When I was a child.” My mother told me that when I was child I’d always find faces in everything and give them personalities. Especially, during my bedtime stories when she’d read to me with picture books. I wanted to explore the idea of finding faces in the flowers. Much like Alice from the Alice in Wonderland book.” – Ashly Lovett
