About the Artwork:
“I decided to make a horror-themed piece for this show, but didn’t want to paint anything especially creepy or gloomy. I’ve always really enjoyed the folk horror aesthetic – the use of flowers, brighter colors, and animals such as sheep, rabbits, and goats. The subversion of otherwise cheery and comforting themes – childhood, nature, and community – is very appealing to me.” – Johannah O’Donnell
