About the Artwork:
“HAPPINESS began as an exploration into monotype printmaking techniques. The approach was to lay down inked areas of tone and then, within there, find someone – and this is who stepped forward.
A ‘ghost print’ was made after the initial print which was so rich in ink. Then a lot of fun went into working with oil paint and medium to make ‘HAPPINESS’ what we share with you now:
The Picts were an ancient race of artists who inhabited what is now known as Northern Scotland. A great deal of mystery surrounds them as all we have left are their exquisite artefacts, but finally we can reveal exactly what the Pictish people actually looked like (maybe).” – Erlend Tait and Pamela Tait
