About the Artwork:
I am interested in the different evolutions of technology, whereas “technology” is a means-to-an-end, for example mobility, transportation, flying. Birds have figured it out millions of years ago, humans just work it out now. I wanted to offset those two extremes in one picture. Some people also read other things into the resulting painting – Noah’s ark, UFO abductions… but that’s imagination going into overdrive. There was no gloomy thought on my mind when I painted this piece. If anything, it’s about progress, departure, and about dawn of mankind. – Franc Kaiser
About the Artist:
Franc Kaiser is a Swiss national who resides in Shanghai, China. Franc paints pop-surrealistic motives, using acrylics and cardboard. He is inspired by both nature and technology and often shows animals in a technological, sci-fi environment. His paintings were shown in galleries in Los Angeles (Corey Helford Gallery), San Diego (Trash Lamb Gallery), Palm Springs (Musonium Gallery), and in Beijing (Yuan Museum).
