About the Artwork:

“I’ve been very fortunate to have experienced moments of immense joy and clarity through making artwork, the intensity of which can only be matched by the (at times) overwhelming depth of the pitfalls and feelings of disorienting uncertainty. There is, though, seemingly no rhyme or reason to how/when the pendulum swings between both ends of the spectrum. A huge personal victory can, at any moment, be followed by a string of rejections, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome, enough to make me forget any prior achievements.

This piece embodies the state of calm mindfulness, amidst less-than-ideal circumstances, that I am perpetually aspiring towards. To be present within (and even grateful for) the valleys in life just as much as the peaks. It serves as a reminder that what matters is not what the journey brings, but how I respond and thereby create the reality I experience.” – Jerome Tiunayan
