Áine, in Irish mythology, was a Goddess of Summer and Wealth and closely associated with Midsummer, Agriculture and Fertility. She was often represented by a wild red mare and had command over crops and animals.

Kirsten Schaap (@kirsketchbook) is an illustrator living and working in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her work revolves around introspection, darkness, contrast and raw emotion- fear, loss and decay are recurring themes in her work. She mainly works in black-and-white and her work is drawn by hand using a stippling technique, which enables her to bring depth, texture and layers into her work. She is inspired by nature, mythology and science fiction.
