Inspired by Slavic folktales, this piece is about obsessions and compulsions. The apple rolling around a plate is a mythical scrying method.

Varvara Nedilska is a Ukrainian Canadian multidisciplinary artist living and working in Toronto.

Their practice is narrative-based, and they work in a range of analogue media from painting to sculpture and printmaking. Some of their biggest inspirations are medieval and surrealist art, the Flemish Renaissance, folk/“outsider” art and the natural world.
