About the Artwork:
“I painted ‘Dreamscape’ after just finishing work for my solo show. For months I had been working on the same pieces and because I was travelling while working on my show, everything was planned out ahead of time. After I was finished, I felt like I could experiment and create something on a whim and it was refreshing to not know what the outcome would be. I wanted to do the opposite of what I normally would paint, choosing flat color combinations instead of a detailed background.” – Ana Bagayan
About the Artist:
(Artist Bio)
I was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1983 and earned a BFA in Illustration from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA in 2005. I live in the mountains of southern California with my husband and two dogs.
My work is inspired by the metaphysical – E.T.s, aliens, spirits, ghosts, intergalactic space creatures, ethereal beings, anything that hints at the idea that we are just a small part of the unimaginably vast Universe.
My client list includes SONY BMG, Spin, Rolling Stone, Publicis Mojo, Diesel, Honda, Mighty Fine, Sydney Symphony, Young Guns, Crispin Porter & Bogusky, Saatchi & Saatchi, Weiden & Kennedy London, GQ, Men’s Health, among others.
I have been exhibiting in galleries around the world for over 10 years and am currently represented by FB69 Gallery in Munster, Germany.
My awards include American Illustration and Communication Arts awards, as well as Gold Ozzie Award, SILA, and Eckersleys Award.
