About the Artwork:

“I’ve been excited about a family trip being planned for the Philippines, the country my parents are from. I went there once when I was a small child, and the idea of going back has me thinking about Filipino culture, and stories of my family’s history, both of which I would love include more in my work. My contribution for MicroVisions is the beginning of this exploration.” – Roland Tamayo

About the Artist:

When Roland Tamayo isn’t fulfilling his duties as a father to twin boys, he is usually painting about fatherhood and other life experiences. At home is an ever growing collection of vintage cameras, audio equipment, and nicknacks collected from flea markets and garage sales. These, combined with Roland’s love and fascination with sea life, create the vehicles in which to tell the stories in his work.
