About the Artwork:
“Acquisition is a piece that juxtaposes the dirty, tangled, and natural against fanciness and order. The piece also plays with scale, as all of the objects are relatively similar size, even though the “real” objects would be wildly different. It was drawn first with pencil, then inked over in pen. Select areas have been filled in with gouache paint.” – Jenna Andersen

Jenna Andersen is an artist, illustrator, and designer from Virginia, USA. She earned her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015 with a degree in Communication Arts. She enjoys drawing themes of lush plant life, adventure, and mystery. Her works are evocative of a narrative, but there is never a “right” answer. She hopes that the audience will create their own stories and worlds from her artworks.
