About the Artwork:

“The girl felt the betrayal in her body, a visceral reaction that left her with a sense of insignificance and injustice. She could feel it tickling at the back of her mind; it got caught in her throat as though the whispers of it were reverberating all around her. The voices echoing just out of reach. They followed her even into the quiet solitude of her very own room. She wanted to disguise her face and could feel the heat of it running swiftly down into her eyes. She looked out, stricken still with the question, how could something so unseen feel more real than her own body?

‘The Reverberating Whispers’ helped me create and formulate what I wanted for my Shit Talking Hearts. This watercolor is the catalyst for the piece ‘The Voices in Her Heart’, which is the start of my brand new series of works, which will be a combination of watercolors and oil paintings.” – Gina Altadonna
