About the Artist:

Abbey Luck is an artist, writer, director and animator. Her production company, Awesome + modest, has created animation for a diverse range of projects in film and television, including their own TV show Jeff and Some Aliens on Comedy Central. Some of their clients include Fox, Disney, The New York Times, AOL, Scion, Genentech and Esquire. Luck was a writer and storyboard artist on Disney’s offbeat kid’s show Pickle & Peanut. Her animated short film The Observer was featured in Slamdance Film Festival and received a Jerome Foundation Fellowship. Luck’s work has been featured in numerous film festivals and magazines, including New Orleans Film Festival, Animation Block Party, Ottawa Film Festival, Vimeo Staff Picks, Hi-Fructose, Print Mag, Salon.com and more. In addition to animation, Luck also works in interactive installation. Her solo exhibit, Illuminecho, transformed a pop-up gallery in Los Angeles into a fictional light-worshipping cult. She has a permanent installation called The Infinity Spa in Meow Wolf, an interactive museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 2016, Luck received a fellowship at the MacDowell Colony to work on Pig Wife, her first graphic novel.
