About the Artwork:

“Mushrooms are the perfect example of buried connections because of the way they grow, from hidden networks of underground ‘roots’ called mycelium. Mushrooms are a constant source of fascination for me, and they appear in my work very frequently. This painting is one of a series of illustrations inspired by colourful, retro mushroom and flower motifs, popular in the 60’s and 70’s.” – Shannon Knight
