Alexandra Finkeldey is an illustrator based in Ottawa, Canada. She lives with her husband, two cats, and a gecko. She enjoys illustrating the small, cozy details of daily life. Her favourite subjects include animals, plants, landscapes, people, and food. She likes to use warm colour palettes with a focus on natural textures. She illustrated Ruth Doyle’s A Horse Called Now (2024), Nicola Jones’s Saving the Spotted Owl (2023), Vita Murrow’s True Stories of Animal Heroes: Talala (2021) and Isabella Tree’s When The Storks Came Home (2022). She is currently working on picture books and personal illustrations for both domestic and international clients.
