About the Artwork:

“Although painted entirely with acrylic, this is one of a series of pieces done in a nostalgic style using a sepia color pallet, which is inspired by my working with black walnut ink. Perhaps due to my midwestern US upbringing I love the fish out of water idea of placing a strange subject in a bucolic rural setting. The medieval style clothing refers back to my Dankquart Collection series, paintings from a lost civilization.” – John Walker
