About the Artwork:

“An Eastern Cottontail seeks refuge beneath a bare, snowy bramble. The slow and gradual thaw of snow reveals the promise of spring: gentle yellow crocuses emerging from the earth.

This painting seeks to celebrate the sleepy, muted transition from winter to spring here in Ontario, Canada. The setting is based on photos taken from my daily walks around the city of Ottawa in the winter.” – Alexandra Finkeldey
