About the Artwork:
This painting is the third in a series based on my recovery process after experiencing a detached retina almost a year ago. The first piece, “Dear You”, was about having a source of inner strength in difficult times. The second piece, “The Ghost Inside”, illustrated the feelings of grief I was experiencing. “Moonage Daydream” represents hope for the future. It’s also the most technically challenging painting I’ve created since the surgery. Working on it was not easy, but being able to create something like this, after not knowing if I’d ever be able to paint like I used to, is very rewarding. – Johannah O’Donnell
