About the Artwork:
“As a child, my family would always take trips to the Eastern side of Long Island to see the Horton’s Point Lighthouse. This was my absolute favorite place, as I was fascinated by the vintage structure with the beautiful glowing light on top. There were always hundreds of seagulls, all flying around the lighthouse in circular motions. One day while sitting in front of it, I saw a single seagull sitting on top of the lighthouse. He looked so proud, as if this was in fact his lighthouse. Ever since that moment, I have always felt that this lighthouse belonged to the seagulls.” – Juliet Schreckinger
