“On a walk along the Mount Moldy shore, I encountered this being emerging from the crashing waves. I tried to snap a photo but vibrant colors permeated the frame where the body once stood. This painting is the only documentation that exists.” – John F. Malta
About the Artist:

John F. Malta is an American artist who lives and works in Kansas City. He has worked on projects with The New York Times, The New Yorker, Topps x Beyond the Streets, Museum of Arts & Design, Liquid Death, and Dr. Martens. John spends most of his days drawing alongside his tiny dog Porky, surrounded by his collections of Halloween decorations, old toys, puroresu artifacts, and punk posters coated in xerox fuzz.
His most recent project, an experiential installation of woodcuts and campfire stories titled Haunted Francis Storybook Village, opened at Cooler Ranch on Long Island, New York in the Autumn of 2020. His paintings and installations have been exhibited widely across North America at galleries such as New Image Art, Hashimoto Contemporary, Spoke Art NYC, Superchief, Good Mother Gallery, Gallery Nucleus, Cooler Gallery, and Think Tank LA.
