A golden bee seeking nourishment clings to the petals of a severed rose. Cut from its source, the flower offers no nectar, no future. Perhaps a futile search, the bee continues flitting from one rose to the next. The outcome of its endeavours remains uncertain.

Marek Osedowski is an emerging Canadian visual artist specializing in representational and figurative painting, often weaving metaphor and allegory into symbolist portraiture. Currently working from Edmonton, Alberta, he graduated with a BFA in Art & Design with distinction in 2020 from the University of Alberta and has since exhibited in Canada and across the United States.
