About the Artwork:
“A sleepy fox rests among the flowering nasturtium at a local farm. Ladybugs search for food on the leaves of the late summer crops. The gentle hum of cicadas announce the closing of the season.”
This piece was inspired by the farm that supplies us with our spring and summer vegetables. At our weekly pickups, the farmers kindly let us walk about the property. I like to take photos of the crops as they change throughout the seasons. This painting celebrates the joy, comfort, and gentle haze of late summer in the Ottawa region. – Alexandra Finkeldey
