About the Artwork:
“This piece was inspired by a butterfly I photographed in September, a Vanessa atalanta sitting on a plum (a friend found the caterpillar in some outdoor trash and took care of it in a big jar with soil and plants, it had hatched from its cocoon the day before I took the picture and we released it in a garden). ‘The Alluring’ is inspired by my ongoing body of artwork where I explore nature in the details. I’m trying to draw as naturalistic as I can, as well as trying to find a way of incorporating the surreal and dark atmosphere.” – Katrin Berge

(Artist Bio)
Katrin Berge is a Norwegian illustrator and artist living in Bergen where she loves to explore the forest and nature surroundings for inspiration and recreation. As a kid she lived by the forest and sea and grew up observing nature in all of its forms everyday, and the fascination for all kinds of animals, insects and creatures of the wild has not ceased to increase. Katrin works with graphite to create images with a high level of detail, mixing together fauna and animals and often leans towards the surreal and dark.
