About the Artwork:

“I first sketched this idea a few months ago after listening to a podcast about The Philadelphia Experiment. The Philadelphia Experiment was a top secret military experiment that supposedly took place in 1943 that rendered an entire U.S. Navy Destroyer Escort ship invisible. Some stories state that the ship not only gained invisiblity, but also teleported 200 miles away to Norfolk, Virginia only to reappear back in Philadelphia as well as claims that some of the men on that ship were brought back fused to the ship or not at all. It’s a fascinating story regardless if it is fact, fiction or a little of both. Even today, the experiments with the Hadron Collider in Geneva are stirring up conspiracies of time travel, teleportation and portals to different dimensions. True or not, it is both terrifying and interesting to think of what unknowns in this universe could be unravelled by a simple scientific mistake.

To give some information on my ‘digital original’ process… I digitally paint my piece which is then printed as a one-off with archival paper and inks. It is then mounted, varnished and hand-embellished with a clear acrylic that allows me to emphasize my brush strokes. My ‘originals’ come with a COA that states that there will never be another piece created in that fashion.” – David Seidman
