About the Artwork:
“I took a moment to rest near this tree during a hike when I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter. Anxiety about how she was developing lingered in my mind since I met with my doctor the week before.
I took a few moments to breathe and gazed at the tree. It was growing on the edge of a rocky, dry cliff as if it were the best home on the entire earth. Turning the harshest environment into its sanctuary.
I felt warmth in my heart and calmness in my belly.” – Rachael Pease
