About the Artwork:

“The title of the painting comes from an album by David Hykes. It is called “I Can Hear Solar Winds”. I fell in love with the music I first heard in the movie Baraka. The patterns in my picture represent both solar wind and sound.” – Samuli Heimonen

About the Artist:

(Artist Statement)

I’ve been painting animals for years now. I portray animals as metaphors for human emotions. They represent our dreams, fears, desires and need for meaning. I paint pictures to tell stories. Sometimes the stories are surreal and without an end but they always have an emotional charge and strong feeling of atmosphere. My new work focuses on wolfs and dogs. The wolf interests me because of it’s bad reputation. It’s a beautifull animal with a true sense of danger.
