The Knowable Unknown – WOW x WOW Gallery – Announcement

posted in: Announcement 0

WOW x WOW Gallery proudly presents The Knowable Unknown. Opening on wowxwow.com at 7pm BST on 4th June and running until 25th June, the exhibition will feature incredible original artworks by more than 70 super talented international artists.

We know ourselves more intimately than we know anything else in the world. And as human beings we all share a set of common characteristics in our physical bodies, and in our mental capacities, as well. However, we are unable to truly know what it is like to be another person. Our inner worlds are greatly shaped by our experiences and no two individuals will ever share the same combination of mind shaping events. There are infinite potential differences between each of us and the way we individually perceive the world. Therefore, when we look at art, which originates in the thoughts, feelings and other cerebral attributes that make up our inner beings, we cannot be absolutely certain of an artist’s creative intentions. Our understanding of a work of art is grounded in our own perceptions. We make connections that are meaningful to us; we form our own personal relationship with the artwork; we take a journey into ‘The Knowable Unknown’.
